Kodak
The Kodak was invented by George Eastman. Eastman knew he " would sell no film if his cameras did not work." Using the idea of easy to fix interchangeable parts, in 1885 he patented the roller holder for film that allowed exposures to be advanced and in 1888 he patented his camera. Together these inventions created the original Kodak camera. This allowed the Eastman Kodak company to mass produce and fulfill orders for the cameras that had become more popular because it was easy for everybody to use.
Early photography(like the Daguerreotype) required complete stillness and many steps to capture an event. The Kodak allowed instant snapshots of everyday life. In1900, Kodak introduced the Brownie camera. The company sold the camera for $1 and the film for 15 cents. The brownie brought the inexpencesive fun of photography to children and adults.
